Tragic Accident Claims Life of Wallingford Man
In a devastating turn of events, a Wallingford man lost his life in a fatal accident on Church Street (Route 68) in Wallingford, Connecticut. The incident occurred when the van he was driving veered off the road, rolled over, and came dangerously close to crashing into a nearby home.

Details of the Accident
The tragic incident took place around 6:45 p.m. on Monday when authorities received a distress call regarding a van traveling in the wrong direction on Church Street. The van, identified as a Ford Econoline, was moving east in the westbound lane when it suddenly left the road, striking a sign and a utility pole at the intersection of Church and New Place streets.
The van then rolled over onto the property of the United Methodist Church and came to a stop just two feet away from a residential home on Church Street. The driver, later identified as Michael Beauvais, 65, was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
Investigation Reveals Lack of Seatbelt
Investigators on the scene determined that Beauvais was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, a crucial safety measure that could have potentially saved his life. The lack of proper restraint likely contributed to the severity of his injuries and ultimately led to his untimely demise.
