In a heartbreaking turn of events, a Houston attorney, Jeffrey Limmer, was tragically shot to death at a McDonald’s in West Houston over the weekend. The incident took place at the McDonald’s off of I-10 near Chimney Rock, sending shockwaves through the community.

Jeffrey Limmer, a 46-year-old lawyer, was known for his willingness to stand up for what was right. According to detectives, Limmer was doing just that on Saturday when a customer at the McDonald’s became irate, leading to the fatal shooting.
Friends Mourn the Loss
The scene at the McDonald’s was nothing short of devastating, with yellow crime scene tape surrounding the area. Greg Monteverde, a longtime friend of Limmer, drove by without realizing that his friend had been the victim. The two had known each other since they were just 9 years old and had a close bond.
“It’s a gut punch. It’s a deep gut punch. I know a lot of us are still in shock,” Monteverde expressed, reflecting on their childhood friendship.
A Bond Through Football
Monteverde and Limmer shared a love for football, having played together at Memorial High School. Limmer was Monteverde’s quarterback, earning the nickname QB1. Their last conversation revolved around football, with Limmer expressing pride in his cousin who had recently been drafted by the Rams.

According to Houston police, Limmer was at the McDonald’s on I-10 when he intervened in a heated situation between another man and the workers. Despite the escalating tension, Limmer tried to calm the situation down, displaying immense bravery in the face of danger.
“He was brave. I respect it. I think a lot of us knew Jeff to be that type of individual. In school, he would invite somebody who wasn’t the most popular student to a party or things like that,” Monteverde shared.

Tragically, the angry customer retrieved a gun from his car and opened fire on Limmer, fatally shooting him. Despite the efforts of Limmer to de-escalate the situation, the gunman’s actions resulted in a senseless loss of life. Limmer’s strong faith was a guiding force in his life, with Monteverde noting that he is now in Heaven, watching over those he left behind.

As of now, the gunman remains at large, having fled the scene in a blue Ford pick-up truck. Detectives are actively investigating the incident, urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in bringing justice for Jeffrey Limmer and his loved ones.
