According to authorities, the suspect, a 17-year-old boy from San Bernardino, was found in the yard of the house armed with what appeared to be a firearm. Police officers engaged in a dialogue with the suspect for over an hour in an attempt to de-escalate the situation. However, the standoff escalated, leading to the involvement of a SWAT team.

SWAT Team Deployment

As the situation intensified, the suspect was ultimately shot by police officers. The exact circumstances that led to the shooting remain unclear. The suspect sustained a single gunshot wound to the upper body and was immediately treated by Long Beach Fire Department paramedics. Despite efforts to save him, the suspect succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital.

Accomplice Arrested

The accomplice was later identified as Iskay Mota, an 18-year-old man from Modesto. Mota was apprehended and booked into the Long Beach City Jail on charges of robbery, with bail set at $100,000.
