Arrests Made in Orange Mound Mass Shooting Case
Following the tragic mass shooting in Orange Mound last month, interim Memphis police Chief CJ Davis provided an update to the Memphis City Council. Chief Davis revealed that arrests have been made in connection to the incident that claimed the lives of two individuals and left seven others injured.

Suspects Apprehended
Chief Davis clarified that while the suspects have not been charged with pulling the trigger, evidence led officers to believe they were involved in the shooting. As a result, they were arrested on other charges, though the specific charges have not been disclosed at this time.
Victims Identified
The two victims who tragically lost their lives in the shooting have been identified as 17-year-old Antonio Humphrey and 22-year-old Chalmar Fason. Additionally, seven other individuals are still recovering from their injuries. The ages of all nine victims range from 16 to 29 years old.
Details of the Shooting
The shooting took place on Saturday, April 20, during a block party in the area of Carnes Avenue and Grand Street in Orange Mound. Memphis police reported that between 200 and 300 people were present at the party when the incident occurred.
Seeking Justice
Interim Chief Davis expressed her determination to seek federal prosecution for those responsible for the senseless act of violence. In an effort to encourage information sharing, CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of $15,000 to anyone who can provide leads that lead to an arrest in the case. The Memphis City Council has added $11,000 to this reward, in addition to the organization’s standard $4,000 reward. The U.S. Marshals Service has also offered an additional $10,000, bringing the total reward amount to $25,000.
