An alleged big-time drug trafficker was apprehended in Antipolo City, Rizal, on Tuesday night, April 23, with a substantial haul of illegal firearms and crystal methamphetamine, commonly known as shabu.

Arrested at around 10:34 p.m., the suspect, known only as “Oscar,” was taken into custody by anti-narcotics operatives after selling a pack of shabu to an undercover police officer in Barangay San Roque, as reported by the Region 4A police on Wednesday, April 24.
The authorities seized a total of nine sachets of shabu, amounting to 45 grams and valued at approximately P306,000 based on the standard price of P6,800 per gram. Alongside the drugs, two illegal firearms were also confiscated – a caliber .45 pistol loaded with five bullets and a caliber .9mm pistol, also with five bullets. Notably, both firearms lacked the necessary government permits.
The suspect has been identified as a high-value individual (HVI) in the illegal drug trade, indicating a significant player in the criminal network. The police are currently conducting an investigation into the source of the illegal drugs and firearms and will be subjecting the confiscated weapons to ballistic and cross-matching examinations to determine any potential links to past criminal activities.
