Two bodies were found in a wooded area near a car belonging to a missing Kissimmee woman, leading to a complex investigation that has now taken a significant turn with the arrest of a person of interest in the deadly carjacking case. The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office provided an update during a news conference, revealing that 28-year-old Jordan Torres Garcia, known as Jordan, is now in custody and being interviewed for his connection to the carjacking case.

Garcia had an active felony warrant for weapons possession and was arrested in Orange County just after noon today. The case involves the carjacking, kidnapping, and murder of 31-year-old Catherine Aguas Vivas, which was caught on camera. The green Acura involved in the carjacking was traced back to a family who sold it or traded it at a dealership, which was then auctioned off on Facebook Marketplace. Garcia, using the profile name Jordan Latroy, reached out to buy the green Acura, and his profile photo appeared to match the shooter in the carjacking. Additionally, his phone number matched the buyer’s number.

Sheriff Lema emphasized that Garcia is a strong person of interest and will not be released, as he faces US federal charges. The investigation is ongoing, with another person of interest, Giovanni Hernandez, still being sought in connection to Aguas Vivas.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a man was shot dead in a fatal road rage incident in Volusia County, where the shooter claimed self-defense. Sheriff Mike Chitwood stated that the shooter tried to give first aid to the victim before calling for help. Chitwood urged individuals to call for help if faced with aggressive drivers rather than taking matters into their own hands.
