A man who allegedly fired multiple shots at an Archdale business and fled the scene this week was arrested on Friday night, according to the Archdale police Department.

Joshua Blaine Arquette, 36, reportedly went into Carolina Container on Tuesday morning and fired multiple shots before leaving the scene in a stolen white Ford F-350. Fortunately, no one was hurt during the incident, but the shooting did result in property damage.

The stolen F-450 was later found abandoned near Thompson Heath Road, where Arquette allegedly stole another truck, a silver 2004 Nissan Titan. Just before 9 p.m. on Tuesday, the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office discovered the stolen Nissan Titan abandoned in the middle of the street on the 500 block of Corriher Grange Road.

Arquette was apprehended in Rowan County by the Kannapolis Police Department.

On Tuesday morning, Archdale Dispatch confirmed an active investigation in the area of Comanche Drive/Cheyenne Drive with officers on the scene. Arquette reportedly fired multiple shots at Carolina Container before fleeing in a white truck, prompting a swift response from law enforcement.

After the shooting, Randolph County deputies found the stolen white Ford F-450 abandoned in a field off of Thompson Heath Road. Reports began to surface of an armed individual, believed to be Arquette, in the area of Beckerdite Road and Thompson Heath Road in Sophia. The suspect was reportedly knocking on doors and asking to use a phone, as well as rummaging through vehicles.

Subsequently, a silver 2004 Nissan Titan truck with a diamond plate toolbox was stolen from Thompson Heath Road, leading to further reports of the suspect speeding on Beckerdire Road and potentially heading towards I-74 south.

The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Corriher Grange Road and found the unoccupied stolen 2004 Nissan Titan linked to Arquette.

Arquette faces pending charges from Archdale police for various offenses, including felony possession of a firearm by a felon, felony discharging a weapon into an occupied property, and misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon.

Moreover, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office has charged Arquette with felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle, felony larceny of a motor vehicle, and misdemeanor injury to real property. The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office also has pending charges against Arquette for felony larceny of a firearm, felony larceny of a motor vehicle, and felony breaking and entering a motor vehicle.

The incident prompted lockdowns at several schools in the area, including Wheatmore Middle School, New Market Elementary, and various other schools to ensure the safety of students and staff.
