Dayton police and medics responded to a call just before 1:30 a.m. on March 9 at Brewski’s Bar on 443 Patterson Road. A 911 caller reported seeing Tigner laying in the road, holding his stomach. The caller mentioned that Tigner had gotten into an argument with another man at the bar, which escalated into a confrontation in the parking lot.

Later, as they were leaving, the man ran out of Partners Bar and shot Tigner multiple times.
