In a tragic turn of events, the body of a missing Mississippi man was discovered burnt on the side of a highway on Monday. The Copiah County Sheriff, Byron Swilley, reported that a father came into his office to file a missing person’s report on his son. Shortly after, Mississippi Department of Transportation crews stumbled upon a body on Highway 472 near Rockport Road and promptly contacted law enforcement.
### IDENTIFICATION OF THE DECEASED
The body was identified as 54-year-old Billy Ray Jones, Jr., the missing man’s son. When officers arrived at the scene, they observed visible burn wounds on the remains of Jones.

Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the disappearance and murder of Jones. Matthew Nelson, aged 50, was taken into custody and charged. Tyrell Bridges, 32, was also apprehended on Wednesday afternoon at a mobile home on Windy Hill Road in Adams County.
