During the investigation, Deputy English discovered that the stolen four-wheeler had been spotted at the Love’s Truck Stop on Mocksville Highway in Statesville. Surveillance footage revealed a male and female engaging in a transaction involving the stolen vehicle. Subsequently, Deputy English was able to track down the four-wheeler in Caldwell County with the assistance of the local Sheriff’s Office.

Suspects and Charges

The suspects involved in the case have been identified as Preston Levi Kovanda, 35, of Wilson Street NW, Lenoir, and Tammy Lee Horne, 38, of Old Johns River Road, Collettsville. Both individuals are facing serious charges including Felony Conspire to Commit Felony Larceny, two counts of Felony Obtaining Property by False Pretense, and an additional charge of Felony Larceny of a Motor Vehicle for Kovanda.
