In a heartbreaking turn of events, a young woman lost her life in DeKalb County, Georgia, after being shot on Saturday afternoon. The victim, identified as 23-year-old Shanae Smith, was found by authorities in the 2900 block of Fields Drive just before 3 p.m. in response to a person shot call.

Upon arriving at the scene, police discovered Smith with a gunshot wound and immediately rushed her to the hospital for treatment of what was described as a “life-threatening” injury. Tragically, despite the efforts of medical personnel, Smith succumbed to her injuries and passed away.
