A Chinese national, Yixuan Cheng, has been identified as the sixth victim in the tragic stabbing spree at Westfield Bondi Junction. The 27-year-old economics student at the University of Sydney was fatally killed by 40-year-old Queensland man Joel Cauchi on Saturday.

Cheng was on the phone with her fiancé, who is based in China, just moments before the violent attack took place. Her fiancé, who had been planning to marry her after she graduated this year, saw the news about the stabbing in Sydney and immediately tried to call her back, but unfortunately, she did not answer.

Joel Cauchi went on a rampage, stabbing six people to death and injuring at least 12 others in the busy shopping centre.
