An officer with the Pasadena police Department was forced to fatally shoot an armed man on Saturday night after a pursuit ended in a residential neighborhood. The incident began at 8:39 p.m. when officers approached a driver in a white pick-up truck facing the wrong way on a one-way street. The driver suddenly sped off, narrowly missing an officer in the process, according to PPD.

The officers initiated a pursuit as the driver was now wanted for assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer. The chase came to a sudden halt at the 800 block of Arden Road when the suspect crashed into the front yard of a house. Video footage captured by a KTLA viewer showed the man colliding with a vehicle parked in the driveway of the home.

After the crash, the suspect fled from the car and sought refuge in the neighborhood. He forcibly entered two homes before being located by officers in the backyard of a house on the 700 block of Oak Knoll Circle. Despite the deployment of a K9 unit, the man engaged in a confrontation with officers and brandished a handgun.
**Fatal Confrontation**
The suspect ignored commands to drop the weapon, leading to the fatal shooting by an officer. The man, identified as 36-year-old Ricardo Guade Andrade of San Fernando, succumbed to his injuries despite efforts by first-responders to save his life. The handgun was recovered at the scene by police.
