A heart-wrenching incident unfolded on the national highway near Fatehpur in Rajasthan’s Sikar district, where seven individuals, including two children, lost their lives in a devastating car collision. The victims, all hailing from Meerut in Uttar Pradesh, were on their way to Chru at Salasar Pulia when tragedy struck.

Details of the Accident

According to Inspector Subhash Bijaraniyan, the car carrying the passengers collided with a moving truck, leading to a catastrophic chain of events. The impact caused both vehicles to catch fire, exacerbated by the car’s LPG kit. Despite their efforts, the passengers were unable to escape the engulfing flames and were tragically burnt alive. Additionally, the rolls of thread loaded on the truck also caught fire, intensifying the situation.

Efforts of Rescue and Recovery

Upon receiving the distressing news, senior police and administrative officials rushed to the scene accompanied by fire tenders. With the assistance of local residents, the injured were promptly transported to the sub-district hospital. However, they were declared brought dead upon arrival, adding to the somber atmosphere surrounding the incident.

Identification of Victims

The victims have been identified as Neelam Goyal, Ashutosh Goyal, Manju Bindal, Hardik Bindal, Swati Bindal, and Deeksha Bindal. The authorities have reached out to the families of the deceased, who are expected to arrive on Monday for the formalities. Following postmortem examinations, the bodies will be handed over to the grieving relatives for final rites.

This unfortunate accident comes on the heels of another road mishap in Rajasthan’s Bhilwara district, where three labourers lost their lives. The trio, hailing from Chitrakoot district in Uttar Pradesh, were struck by a speeding car while on their way to a nearby shop. The victims, identified as Shiv Shankar, Prabhu, and Santosh, were employed at a local brick kiln, highlighting the dangers faced by workers in the region.
