Tragic Shooting Leaves Ten Injured and One Child dead in South Side of Chicago
A devastating shooting incident in the South Side of Chicago has left a community in mourning, with ten people injured and one young girl tragically losing her life. The Chicago police Department confirmed that eight people, including three children, were shot during the incident, which occurred at a family gathering late Saturday evening.

Details of the Incident
According to Deputy Chief Don Jerome of the Chicago Police Department, the shooting took place following a ShotSpotter alert of 18 rounds fired at the gathering. The victims, ranging in age from 1 to 40 years old, were all attending the event when the gunfire erupted, causing chaos and panic among attendees.
Tragically, one of the children, a 7 or 8-year-old Hispanic girl, succumbed to her injuries and passed away at the scene. Two other children, a 1-year-old boy and an 8-year-old boy, are currently in critical condition after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds. Additionally, a 9-year-old boy suffered a graze wound to his hand but is expected to make a full recovery.
The adults who were injured in the shooting are currently receiving medical treatment for their wounds, with their ages ranging from 19 to 40 years old. The community is reeling from the senseless violence that has left so many innocent individuals in harm’s way.
Search for Suspects
Authorities have indicated that there are two likely shooters involved in the incident, but as of now, no arrests have been made. The police are working tirelessly to gather information and apprehend those responsible for the tragic events that unfolded in the South Side of Chicago.
