A tragic incident unfolded in Diego Martin over the weekend, as a 21-year-old man named Derron Forde succumbed to injuries sustained during a police-involved shooting. The TTPS revealed that multiple anti-crime exercises conducted in the Western Division on Saturday led to this unfortunate outcome, along with the arrest of two suspects and the seizure of a firearm and quantities of ammunition.

Details of the Incident
According to reports, officers of the West End Criminal Investigations Department, Western Divisional Gang and Intelligence Unit, and Western Division Task Force (WDTF) were responding to a report of Robbery with Aggravation in the Diego Martin district. Upon arriving at the River Estate district, they encountered four suspects, two of whom were armed with guns.
As the officers attempted to apprehend the suspects, one of the armed men allegedly pointed a firearm in their direction. In response, the officers discharged their service firearms, resulting in one man, identified as Derron Forde, being injured. He was rushed to the St James Medical Facility but tragically succumbed to his injuries.
Another suspect, an 18-year-old also from Diego Martin, was successfully apprehended, while the remaining two suspects managed to evade capture. Authorities recovered a Glock pistol loaded with ammunition, two cellular phones, and a black side bag from the scene.
Subsequent Police Operations
In a separate operation, WDTF officers executed a search warrant at a residence on Bournes Road, St James. During the search, they discovered 41 rounds of assorted ammunition hidden in a peanut butter container. The male suspect present at the time was arrested in connection with the find.

Additionally, Task Force officers conducted an operation in the St James district later that evening, resulting in the seizure of a pistol loaded with ammunition. The TTPS confirmed that investigations into all these incidents are ongoing.
