A fatal crash on Old Axson Road in Douglas, Georgia, has left the community in mourning. The Georgia State Patrol (GSP) responded to the scene on Friday, April 12, where they discovered a single-vehicle accident that tragically resulted in the death of a young man.

Details of the Incident
The incident took place at around 2:20 p.m. on Old Axson Road, just one mile north of Rebecca S. Waldron Road. The GSP reported that a Ford F-250 was travelling south on Old Axson Road, approaching Twentynine Mile Creek Bridge, when it veered off the roadway and onto the southbound shoulder. The vehicle collided with the end of the guardrail before overturning and coming to a rest upside down in the creek.
Victim Identified
The driver of the Ford F-250 was identified as Austin Navalany, a 27-year-old resident of Coffee County. Tragically, Navalany was found in the water and pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The community is devastated by the loss of such a young life.
