Milwaukee prosecutors have charged Maxwell Anderson with first-degree intentional homicide, mutilating a corpse, and arson in connection with a gruesome case involving a severed leg found at Warnimont Park in Cudahy and the disappearance of a 19-year-old woman from Milwaukee. The criminal complaint states that the severed leg found in the park has been preliminarily identified as belonging to 19-year-old Sade Robinson, who was reported missing from Milwaukee’s Brewers Hill neighborhood on the night of April 2 after failing to show up for work.

According to the complaint, Robinson had expressed excitement about a first date she had planned for the night of April 1, which prosecutors allege was with Anderson. Text messages between Robinson and Anderson show that they planned to have dinner together that evening. Surveillance footage obtained by detectives confirmed that the pair had dinner at Twisted Fisherman on Canal Street before visiting a bar and eventually ending up at Anderson’s home on Milwaukee’s south side.

Investigators searched Anderson’s home and found blood on bedding in one bedroom, as well as several gasoline containers in the garage and storage areas of the residence. Surveillance footage from a nearby home showed movement in Anderson’s backyard until the early hours of April 2, when Robinson’s phone appeared to leave the home and travel around Milwaukee before ending up at Warnimont Park, where the severed leg was discovered later that day.

While the complaint does not detail how Robinson was killed, it alleges that the homicide occurred between the time the pair arrived at Anderson’s home and when Anderson is believed to have left Warnimont Park early on April 2. Additional evidence, including the discovery of Robinson’s burned car near 29th and Galena, further implicates Anderson in the crime.

Witnesses reported seeing a man matching Anderson’s description setting fire to Robinson’s car before boarding a bus, which was captured on surveillance footage. The man requested to be dropped off at a location not serviced by the bus route before walking to his home, where he was later arrested by officers.

In a disturbing turn of events, more human remains were discovered near 31st and Galena in Milwaukee, close to where Robinson’s car was found burned. Detectives recovered a human foot in a wooded area near train tracks, along with what appeared to be human flesh. Investigators later confirmed that the foot and the severed leg found at Warnimont Park belonged to the same individual.

Anderson, who has a prior criminal record including misdemeanor convictions for disorderly conduct and domestic violence, worked at several Milwaukee bars in recent years. He was arrested in the early hours of April 4 during a traffic stop near his home.

The case continues to unfold as investigators work to piece together the events leading to Robinson’s tragic death. Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story..
