Public Works : “Trailer Detaches, Rolls into Fence in Nevada County Police Blotter”

The Grass Valley Police Department had a busy day recently, responding to a variety of incidents in the local area. One incident involved Public Works catching two juveniles fleeing from an address on East Main Street. After the juveniles fled, Public Works discovered wet paint and graffiti on city property. Following the trail of wet paint, Public Works was able to track down the juveniles and take a photo of them. It was later revealed that the suspects were students at a local school. Both individuals were cited for previous vandalism at the same location on recent dates.

Another incident reported to the police involved a caller from Old Tunnel Road who suspected a male subject had tampered with his tire by inserting a bolt and stealing his lug nuts. The subject fled into the woods when confronted by the caller. Additionally, a caller from the same area reported a female who was refusing to leave and was wearing the caller’s clothes.

Later in the evening, a caller from East Main Street reported hearing what sounded like automatic gunfire. Concerned for her safety while walking her dog, the caller contacted the authorities. Another caller from Dorsey Drive requested police assistance to retrieve his belongings from his girlfriend’s residence after an argument. Officers were present to ensure a smooth retrieval process.

Nevada City Police Department

The Nevada City Police Department also had their hands full with various calls from the community. One incident involved a trailer that detached from a vehicle and rolled into a caller’s fence on Boulder Street. The caller exchanged information with the responsible party and requested law enforcement to assess the damage.

In another incident, a caller from Broad Street reported the theft of chair cushions and a glass/metal house from their front yard. Furthermore, a caller from Gold Flat Road reported a suspicious black garbage bag, which was later found to be empty.

Nevada County Sheriff’s Office

The Nevada County Sheriff’s Office responded to several calls throughout the day, including a report of a male in a military uniform carrying a rifle or shotgun on Highway 20 at Penn Valley Drive. It was determined that the individual was likely a turkey hunter.

In a separate incident, a caller from Francis Drive reported finding a box of C4, mercury, and illegal fireworks left by a friend. The caller requested proper disposal of the hazardous items. Additionally, a caller from Jones Bar Road reported loose cows belonging to their brother and nephew wandering together.

As the day progressed, a caller from Hirschdale Road reported being shot at near the train tracks. Fortunately, the caller was unharmed, but multiple shots were fired in the vicinity. Another caller reported an intoxicated driver in a large truck driving onto their property and damaging belongings.

Overall, the local law enforcement agencies were kept busy responding to a range of incidents in the community. It’s crucial for residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to help maintain a safe environment for all..
