The body found near Rochester by a dog walker on Wednesday has been identified as 60-year-old Len Reynolds, according to the Southern Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner. Reynolds, a resident of Rochester, was last seen on March 7, 2023.

The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office responded to the discovery of the body at a wooded area near Silver Creek Road Northeast and the Gordon W. Yeager Management Area. Captain Tim Parkin of the sheriff’s office stated that the body had been exposed to the elements for a prolonged period of time, making identification difficult.
Investigators suspected that the body may belong to a man reported missing to the Rochester police Department in March 2023. Following further investigation, the medical examiner confirmed the identity of the deceased as Len Reynolds on Friday.
Rochester Police initiated a search for Reynolds after finding his phone, wallet, and keys left behind during a welfare check at his home in the 1200 block of 11th Ave. Southeast. Parkin mentioned that there was no indication of foul play in Reynolds’ death and that the body appeared to have not been moved.
The state of the corpse made it challenging to determine how long it had been in the wooded area. The medical examiner has not yet released the cause of death, and the investigation is still ongoing.
