The home invasion took place on March 13, when Jenneiahn was awoken at 2 a.m. by a man standing over her bed with a gun and a flashlight. He demanded to know where her valuables were kept, all while threatening her life.

Despite being bound to the chair, Jenneiahn managed to drag it back to her bedroom where she retrieved her .357 magnum handgun. During the exchange of gunfire, both Jenneiahn and Condon sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Despite being injured, Jenneiahn remained chained to the chair and bleeding on the floor for hours until her son discovered her and called 911. Prosecuting Attorney Ryan Jolley stated that Jenneiahn’s actions fell under the state’s stand-your-ground law, allowing her to defend herself in such life-threatening circumstances.
