An unfortunate accident on the Virudhunagar-Madurai highway near Sivarakottai has left five people dead and several others injured. The incident, which occurred early on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, has shocked the local community and authorities.

Details of the Accident
The victims of the accident have been identified as R. Kanagavel, his wife Krishnakumari, their daughter-in-law Nagajothi, her daughter Siva Athmika, and G. Pandi, a fruit vendor from Nilayur. Four others, including Siva Athmika’s twin sister Siva Shri, her brother Siva Aditya, and their relatives Rathnasamy and Meena, sustained injuries in the collision.
According to police reports, the accident occurred when the SUV, driven by K. Manikandan, collided with a moped being ridden by Pandi. In an attempt to avoid the collision, Manikandan swerved the vehicle, causing it to hit the highway median and flip over onto the other side of the road.
