According to BPD Sgt. LaQuitta Wade, officers responded to a call reporting a person shot just before 8:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered Jenkins inside a vehicle, suffering from gunshot wounds. Tragically, Jenkins was pronounced dead at the scene. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office later confirmed his identity.

Initial findings suggest that Jenkins had requested his parents to drive him to a local convenience store. It was at this store that an altercation ensued between Jenkins and another individual. Following the argument, Jenkins returned to his vehicle only to be shot through the car door while driving away from the store. The incident occurred just four blocks away from the convenience store.
