Family Tragedy Strikes on Virudhunagar-Madurai Highway
A devastating road accident on the Virudhunagar-Madurai highway in Sivarakottai near Tirumangalam, Tamil Nadu, has left a family shattered and a community in mourning. The incident, which took place on Wednesday, claimed the lives of five individuals, including four family members.

The Victims
The fatal crash involved a car driven by Mani from Villapuram, accompanied by his wife Nagajothi, their 8-year-old daughter, and his parents Kanagavel and Krishnaveni. Tragically, the collision proved fatal for Mani’s parents, wife, and an innocent two-wheeler rider, G Pandi from Karuvelampatti. The two-wheeler was struck by the speeding car, leading to a chain of events that ended in tragedy.
The Incident
The CCTV footage capturing the heart-wrenching incident shows the white car veering out of control, hitting the divider, and colliding with the two-wheeler. The impact caused the car to overturn onto the service road on the other side of the highway, resulting in multiple casualties.
Aftermath
Emergency services rushed to the scene, but unfortunately, Mani’s parents, wife, and the two-wheeler rider succumbed to their injuries on-site. Mani and his young daughter were immediately taken to Government Rajaji Hospital (GRH) for urgent medical attention. While Mani is receiving treatment, his daughter remains in critical condition.

The ill-fated family had been returning from Thalavaipuram after attending a temple festival when the accident occurred. What should have been a joyous occasion turned into a nightmare for the family and the entire community.

The authorities at Kallikudi police station swiftly responded to the tragic incident.
