The Tragic Shooting Incident in Clearlake
In a distressing turn of events, a fatal drive-by shooting took place in Clearlake, California, leading to the untimely death of 45-year-old Elizabeth Williams. The incident occurred on April 5, 2024, at approximately 10:54 PM, when officers responded to reports of multiple gunshots heard in the 15300 block of Pacific Avenue.

Details of the Shooting
Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered that Elizabeth Williams had sustained a gunshot wound and was being rushed to Adventist Health Clear Lake Hospital by an involved party. Despite the efforts of hospital staff to save her life, Williams tragically succumbed to her injuries. Clearlake police Detectives were called in to assist with the investigation.
The Investigation and Suspect Identification
Through meticulous investigation and witness statements, law enforcement officers were able to piece together the sequence of events leading up to the fatal shooting. It was determined that Williams was driving her vehicle near the intersection of Pacific Avenue and Konocti View Road when another vehicle pulled up alongside hers. A person from the other vehicle fired a single shot at Williams, fatally injuring her before fleeing the scene.
Arrest of the Suspect
Following extensive inquiries, officers identified 21-year-old Nathaniel Hueners of Lakeport as the prime suspect in the case. Subsequently, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Hueners. On April 8, 2024, Hueners was apprehended by Lakeport Police officers who responded to a noise complaint at a local hotel. During the investigation, a firearm believed to be associated with Hueners was discovered in one of the hotel rooms.
Charges Against Hueners
Nathaniel Hueners was taken into custody and booked into the Lake County Jail on charges of murder, assault with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, and violation of post-release community supervision. The swift action of law enforcement officers in apprehending the suspect has brought a sense of closure to the community following the tragic loss of Elizabeth Williams.
