Marion Taylor, aged 71 and hailing from Illinois, was convicted by a federal jury in 2023 for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine. He was sentenced to 24 years in federal prison, followed by ten years of supervised release. Taylor had a previous federal conviction for drug trafficking dating back to 1998.
Ricardo Sodari, 49, from Arizona, received a 14-year prison sentence, along with five years of supervised release, after pleading guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine. Christopher Utley, aged 52 and from Evansville, was sentenced to five years in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release, after also pleading guilty to the same charge.

According to court documents, on April 23, 2021, members of the Phoenix DEA observed Taylor meeting with Sodari in the parking lot of Taylor’s hotel. Sodari placed a suitcase in the back of Taylor’s vehicle before leaving the area. Taylor was later stopped by deputies in Kingman, Arizona, where they found approximately 24.4 pounds of methamphetamine in his vehicle, along with a significant amount of currency.
During an interview with DEA agents, Taylor admitted to distributing methamphetamine for several months and identified Sodari as his supplier. Taylor revealed that he paid Sodari $2,000 per pound of methamphetamine and often traveled to Arizona to acquire the drugs. He mentioned that Utley was a customer to whom he supplied methamphetamine.

Law enforcement officers searched Taylor’s phone and found a drug ledger detailing transactions with Utley.
