A shocking road rage incident on Interstate 65 near Henryville has left one man injured and another behind bars. The Indiana State police are currently seeking information regarding the altercation that took a violent turn last weekend.

Details of the Altercation

The incident occurred around 10:45 a.m. on a Saturday when 911 dispatch received a call about a possible road rage incident between two semi-trucks on I-65. According to reports, the two vehicles were engaged in a dangerous game of brake checking as they travelled northbound on the highway, just a few miles south of the Henryville exit.

Shortly after the call was made, ISP troopers arrived at the scene to find one of the semis pulled into a rest area near the 22-mile marker. The driver had been stabbed during the altercation and was in need of immediate medical attention. The victim, identified as Daniel Andrews from Springfield, Missouri, was airlifted to UofL Hospital for treatment.

Arrests Made

Following his release from the hospital, Andrews was arrested on charges of battery with a deadly weapon, criminal recklessness, battery resulting in bodily injury, criminal recklessness, and aggressive driving. Surprisingly, the other driver involved in the altercation, Lyndon Smith from Gadsden, Alabama, was arrested and charged with false informing.

Investigations revealed that the altercation between the two drivers escalated when they pulled off at the northbound Henryville on-ramp. The fight ensued on the ramp from SR 160 to I-65 North near the 19-mile marker, leading to the stabbing of Andrews.
