Vinod Thakkar, a well-known figure in the community, had been operating a flour mill on Rajvadu Hotel Road for over two decades. Described as a hardworking and dedicated individual, Vinod was respected by many for his commitment to his work and his family.
However, in recent times, Vinod had been facing significant challenges. According to his wife, Sonal Thakkar, he had been under immense stress due to money lending issues. Vinod had borrowed money from five individuals – Darshak Thakkar, Gopal Prajapati, Umesh Chauhan, Kamlesh Patel, and Anil Agrawal. The exact amount borrowed remains unknown, but Vinod had mentioned paying Rs 1 lakh in interest to these men.
The Tragic Turn of Events
On the day of the incident, Vinod left home as usual, promising to return by afternoon. However, when he failed to answer calls after reaching the mill, his family grew concerned. Upon reaching the mill, they discovered the devastating sight of Vinod hanging from a pipe. Despite their immediate efforts to seek medical assistance, Vinod was pronounced dead at the scene by doctors from the 108 ambulance service.
In a suicide note left behind, Vinod pointed the blame at the five men, accusing them of harassment and threats. He stated that they had seized his car, leaving him with no other choice but to take his own life.
