The Background of the Family

Mahesh, hailing from Petasannegandla village, married Shravani from Bommarajupalle village three years ago. The couple was blessed with a baby girl, Akshaya. However, the joy of parenthood soon turned into a nightmare for Shravani as she faced constant torture from her husband and in-laws for giving birth to a baby with a dark complexion.

The Tragic Events Unfold

On March 31st, Shravani found Akshaya unconscious with a bleeding nose. Despite rushing her to the Karempudi government hospital, the doctors could not save the little girl. Mahesh, in a bid to cover up his crime, coerced Shravani into lying to their relatives about the cause of Akshaya’s death. The baby was hastily buried without a proper investigation.

The Shocking Revelations

However, Shravani’s mother grew suspicious of the circumstances surrounding Akshaya’s death and sought the intervention of the local panchayat. Subsequently, Shravani mustered the courage to reveal the harrowing details of the abuse she endured at the hands of Mahesh. She disclosed that Mahesh had made previous attempts to harm Akshaya, including throwing her against a wall, locking her in a room, and trying to drown her in a tub of water.

Legal Action and Investigation

The case has garnered widespread attention, prompting the AP State Child Rights Protection Commission to launch a full-scale investigation. Led by chairman Kesali Apparao and member Bathula Padmavati, the commission has ordered a post-mortem examination of Akshaya’s body after it was exhumed. The local police, under the supervision of CI Mallaiah, are diligently pursuing the case to ensure justice for the innocent child.
