Tragic Three-Vehicle Crash Claims Life of College Station Man

Details of the Collision

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) reported that the fatal crash occurred when a 2001 Kenworth 18-wheeler was travelling eastbound on State Highway 105. Two vehicles, a 2016 Nissan Rouge and a 2024 Hyundai Palisade, were travelling westbound when the Nissan crossed the center line, entering the eastbound lanes. The Nissan collided head-on with the Kenworth before being struck again by the Hyundai.

The Deceased

The driver of the Nissan has been identified as 53-year-old Qinglei Li, a resident of College Station. Mr. Li tragically lost his life in the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene by Grimes County Justice of the Peace Mark Laughlin. The driver of the Kenworth was taken to CHI St. Joseph Hospital in College Station with suspected minor injuries.
