In a recent operation carried out by the Western Regional Command of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS), a total of sixty-six migrants were arrested and subsequently repatriated. The arrests took place within the Western Regional Capital of Sekondi-Takoradi on Wednesday, March 27, 2024.

Unveiling of GIS “TRIPLE S” Campaign
This operation was part of the newly unveiled GIS “TRIPLE S” Campaign, aimed at ensuring a secure, stable, and safe country. The campaign focuses on cracking down on illegal activities and maintaining law and order within the region.
Suspects Recruited for Cybercrimes
According to a statement released by the GIS, the suspects, consisting of 45 men and 21 women aged between 19 and 54 years, were recruited from various towns in Cote d’Ivoire. These individuals were reportedly engaged in cybercrimes and other illegal activities.
Ghanaian Syndicate Involved in Recruitment
Investigations revealed that Ghanaians named Romeo and Akwesi Daniel were identified as part of the syndicate involved in recruiting these Ivorian migrants. They lured the unsuspecting victims under the pretense of operating an online business known as QNET.
Repatriation and Detainment of Suspects
All the victims have been repatriated to their home country, except for two individuals named Bamba Ladja and Troare Yssouf, who have been detained to assist in further investigations. The GIS is working diligently to uncover the full extent of the criminal activities and bring the perpetrators to justice.

Arrest of Nigerian Sex Workers
In a related development, on March 19, 2024, Deputy Superintendent of Immigration Emmanuel Adams led an operation that resulted in the arrest of six Nigerian ladies operating as commercial sex workers at the Bafana Bafana Beach Resort. These individuals, aged between 19 and 26 years, were swiftly repatriated following their arrest.
