PESHAWAR: Death Toll Rises to 10 in Rain-Related Incidents
The death toll from rain-related incidents in the province of Peshawar has tragically climbed to 10, with 12 individuals sustaining injuries, according to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).

Heavy Rains and Hailstorms Cause Devastation
Reports indicate that the victims include eight children and two women who lost their lives, while nine children, two women, and a man were injured during heavy rains and hailstorms that struck the region on Friday and Saturday. Rescue efforts were hindered as the adverse weather conditions continued to batter large parts of the province for the second consecutive day.
Tragic Losses Across Different Districts
The PDMA confirmed that three individuals lost their lives in Bannu, while two fatalities each were reported in Shangla and Bajaur districts. The devastation continued as a woman tragically passed away, and her son sustained injuries when numerous houses collapsed in the upper parts of Hazara division.
Heartbreaking Rescue Efforts
Rescue officials worked tirelessly to retrieve the victims from the rubble, with the widow of Sardar Daud and her son being buried under the debris in Shinkiari area of Mansehra. Despite the valiant efforts of locals and authorities, the woman succumbed to her injuries, while her son was rushed to Ayub Medical Complex Hospital in Abbottabad for urgent medical attention.
Recovery Efforts and Tragic Discoveries
In Shangla, the bodies of two missing children, Laiba aged 3 and Hasnain aged 3, were recovered from the remains of their collapsed house. The PDMA report highlighted that a total of 27 houses were damaged, with three being completely destroyed and 24 suffering partial damage. The rain-related incidents were reported in various districts, including Peshawar, Nowshera, Bajaur, Shangla, Mansehra, Bannu, Mohmand, Mardan, and North Waziristan.
