Daphne police on Hunt for Armed and Dangerous Murder Suspect
In a recent tragic incident that occurred early Easter morning at Audubon Park Apartments in Daphne, Alabama, one man was killed and another injured in a shooting incident. The Daphne Police Department is still actively searching for the murder suspect, 23-year-old Joseph Kaynen Gurley, who they consider to be armed and dangerous.

Details of the Shooting
The man who tragically lost his life in the incident has been identified as J. Matthews Bonnell, Jr. from Baldwin County. According to investigators, Gurley, Bonnell, and an unidentified woman had gone to Audubon Park Apartments to meet with a fourth person when the shooting occurred.
Daphne Police Chief, Brian Gulsby, revealed that a dispute or argument between the shooter and the deceased victim led to the fatal shooting of Mr. Bonnell. The second victim, who remains unidentified, was also shot as he attempted to flee the scene. Fortunately, he underwent surgery and is now recovering from his injuries.
Search for the Suspect
Investigators disclosed that Gurley and the woman fled the scene in a dark-colored Jeep Cherokee SUV. The second victim managed to seek help from a nearby apartment, where his wife, two sons, and a girlfriend were present but did not witness the shooting. Gurley then drove back to Mobile County with the woman, dropping her off at a residence in the Axis/Creola area before fleeing.
Police Efforts and Warning
Daphne Police emphasized that Joseph Gurley has multiple felony convictions in Mobile County and probation revocations in surrounding jurisdictions. They are urging the public not to approach him if spotted but to immediately contact authorities. Police are making every effort to locate Gurley and bring him to justice.
