Family Tragedy Strikes on Haridwar Highway
In a heart-wrenching turn of events, a family of four met with a tragic accident on the Haridwar highway in Kaant area of Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad district. The incident, which occurred early on Sunday, claimed the lives of four family members, including three women, and left two others injured.

Victims Identified
The deceased were identified as Aarti Rastogi (45), her son Yash Rastogi (22), her daughter Ashika Rastogi (19), and Aarti’s sister-in-law Sangeeta Rastogi (45), all residents of Dehradun. They were on their way to meet relatives in Mughalpura locality of Moradabad city when tragedy struck.
Driver Survives
The SUV, which belonged to businessman Atul Rastogi, was being driven by his brother Yash. Atul survived the accident along with his younger sister, Manvi. Both are currently receiving treatment at a local hospital for their injuries.
Details of the Accident
The SUV overturned after colliding with a pole near Rasoolpur railway crossing. The roof of the vehicle suffered severe damage, and locals who witnessed the incident alerted the authorities. Despite efforts to rescue the victims, four individuals lost their lives on the spot.
Speeding and Fatigue Blamed
According to SP (rural) Sandeep Meena, the SUV was travelling at high speed, and it appears that the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel, leading to the loss of control and the collision with the pole. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
