In a devastating turn of events, ten individuals lost their lives in a heart-wrenching accident that occurred on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Ramban district. The incident involved an SUV skidding off the road and plunging into a deep gorge in the Battery Cheshma area of the district. The victims, eight of whom hailed from Bihar, were travelling from Srinagar to Jammu when the tragedy struck in the early hours of the morning. The vehicle, a Tavera, fell approximately 300 feet into the gorge, leaving a trail of destruction and grief in its wake.

The operation to retrieve the bodies was carried out by a team of dedicated personnel from the police and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), braving heavy rains in the area to bring closure to the families of the deceased.
