The 18-year-old was attempting to turn left onto Highway 64 from the Dollar General PVA when her SUV was struck by a pickup truck. She was airlifted to UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill for her injuries, while the truck driver was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Meanwhile, a wilderness therapy camp in North Carolina has been shut down by state regulators following the tragic death of a 12-year-old boy at the facility last month.
