The tragic incident took place in Ughelli, Delta State on February 23, 2024, where officers on a fact-finding mission were ambushed, and on February 26, 2024, where more officers on a rescue mission were also ambushed, resulting in the death of six policemen, with six others still missing in action.

Identification of Fallen Officers

The fallen officers have been identified as Inspector Abe Olubunmi (IRT), Inspector Friday Irorere, Sergeant Kuden Elisha, Sergeant Akpan Aniette, Sergeant Ayere Paul, and Sergeant Ejemito Friday.
