Man Arrested for Attempted Kidnapping of Two Teens in Swansea
A man has been arrested in Swansea for allegedly attempting to lure two teenage girls into his car behind a retail store. The incident, which took place on Thursday afternoon, has left the community shaken and authorities on high alert.

Details of the Incident
Michael Nutbrown, a 60-year-old resident of Somerset, has been charged with attempted kidnapping after he allegedly tried to entice two 13-year-old girls into his dark blue sedan behind the Target store on G.A.R Highway. The girls were walking down a bicycle path on Milford Road when Nutbrown approached them, asking if they needed a ride. Sensing danger, the girls ran from Nutbrown and alerted the authorities.
Security camera footage reportedly shows Nutbrown preparing his car for the girls to sit in, removing items from the front and back seats to make room for them. The video captures Nutbrown walking away from the vehicle multiple times, seemingly waiting for the girls to approach.
Arrest and Response
Following the incident, an arrest warrant was issued for Nutbrown, and he was apprehended at his home on County Street in Somerset without incident. The Swansea police Department commended the two girls for their quick thinking and urged the public, especially parents, to remain vigilant and travel in groups for safety.
“We would also like to commend these brave young girls for doing the right thing and avoiding a stranger who approached them and then telling a trusted adult about the situation,” said Lt. Mark Foley. “In addition, we would like to take this time to remind the public, especially parents with children, to travel in groups, there is safety in numbers, and stick together.”
