Quick Arrest Made in Springfield Shooting Case
In a swift turn of events, detectives from the Fugitive Tracking and Apprehension Unit of the West Springfield police District managed to locate and arrest the suspect involved in yesterday’s non-fatal shooting in Springfield. The suspect, identified as Julio Pascual Sejas, 41, of Arlington, was apprehended within three hours of the incident.

The Incident
The incident took place yesterday afternoon at the 8500 block of Bauer Drive in Springfield. Officers responded to a domestic-related shooting where two adult victims were found with gunshot wounds to the upper body. Upon arrival, officers provided immediate aid to the victims before they were transported to the hospital for further treatment. Fortunately, their injuries were deemed non-life-threatening by Fairfax Fire and Rescue personnel.
Suspect’s Actions
Detectives determined that Sejas arrived at the scene in his car and attempted to speak to his estranged wife. When he was denied entry into the business, he fired three rounds through the door, injuring the two victims. Sejas fled the scene before law enforcement arrived, leading to a search for his whereabouts.
Arrest and Charges
After obtaining warrants for Sejas on multiple charges including Aggravated Malicious Wounding and Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony, detectives were able to locate and arrest him at Dulles International Airport as he was attempting to pick up family members arriving in Virginia. Sejas was promptly transported to the Adult Detention Center and is being held without bond.
