A terrifying incident in Crown Heights, Brooklyn has left a 57-year-old woman, Dulce Pichardo, severely injured and traumatized. The unprovoked attack occurred on Tuesday evening as Pichardo was walking down Grand Avenue near Dean Street. The assailant, identified as 33-year-old Franz Jeudy, punched Pichardo in the face without warning, causing her to stumble backwards.

Despite her injuries, Pichardo bravely spoke with Eyewitness News reporter CeFaan Kim about the harrowing experience. She recounted how the attacker, without uttering a word, struck her with such force that her face was fractured in multiple places. As a result, Pichardo’s mouth is now wired shut, and she will need to consume food through a straw for the next six weeks.

Jeudy, who has a troubling history of seven prior assault arrests, was charged with misdemeanor assault but is not eligible for bail.
