Man Out on Bail in Murder Case Fatally Shot in Delhi
In a tragic turn of events, a 32-year-old man who was out on bail in a murder case was shot dead in northeast Delhi’s New Usmanpur on Tuesday night. The victim, identified as Sanjay Singh, owned a restaurant in GTB Nagar, near Hudson Lane. As he was riding his bike home after closing his restaurant for the night, unidentified assailants on bikes followed him, caught up to him on a service road in New Usmanpur, and mercilessly shot him seven to eight times before fleeing the scene.

Immediate Response and Investigation
The incident was witnessed by local residents and passersby, including a man who knew Singh and immediately informed his family. Singh’s younger brother, Nitin, received a call from a friend informing him that Singh’s body was found near the service road in New Usmanpur. Upon arriving at the scene, Nitin discovered Singh lying in a pool of blood with injuries on his head, shoulder, elbow, and abdomen. Singh was rushed to Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital but was declared brought dead.

The police were alerted at 12.33 am when Singh’s family informed the control room. Deputy Commissioner of Police (northeast) Joy N Tirkey revealed that Singh had been involved in a murder case back in 2010, where he and three associates had killed a man named Ravinder. Following a complaint from Nitin, a case under sections of murder and the Arms Act was registered against unidentified suspects. Investigators have retrieved CCTV footage from the neighbourhood and questioned residents, but the suspects have not yet been identified.
