Tragic Accident in Strong: Maine State police Investigate Fatal Crash
In a devastating turn of events on Monday, a fatal crash in Strong has left the community in shock. Maine State Police are currently investigating the incident that started with a slow-speed chase and ended in tragedy when the driver, Joshua Burdin, slammed his car into a tree on South Strong Road in Farmington.

Details of the Incident
The series of unfortunate events began around 4:59 p.m. when deputies were called to a residence in Strong to investigate a sexual assault. Burdin, a 32-year-old resident of Strong, was immediately identified as the suspect and had fled the scene before the officers arrived.
A Franklin County Sheriff’s deputy later located Burdin around 6:11 p.m. driving a 2006 Subaru Impreza in Strong. Upon attempting to make a traffic stop, Burdin led deputies on a slow-speed chase into Farmington on South Strong Road. Farmington Police officers were quick to respond and deployed spike mats in an attempt to stop the vehicle. However, Burdin accelerated at high speed, causing the Subaru’s front tires to be punctured, ultimately leading to the fatal crash when he collided head-on with a tree.
Tragic Outcome
Despite the efforts of emergency responders, Burdin was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has since been transported to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta for further examination, including an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
