In a tragic turn of events, a father and his two sons have been identified as suspects in the recent massacre in Moscow. Brothers, Aminchon and Dilovar Islomov, along with their father Isroil Islomov, are facing accusations of aiding and abetting terrorism. The trio, who had previously worked in northwestern Russia’s Tver region, appeared in court at the Basmanny District Court, where none of them admitted to being guilty during a hearing that took place behind closed doors.

The 24-year-old Dilovar Islomov, who is the previous owner of a car that the assailants used to escape from Crocus City Hall, expressed shock when he saw photographs of the vehicle at the crime scene. He had sold the white Renault with a black roof just a week before the attack. The investigation revealed that the suspects were allegedly involved in the organized group with the aim of committing a terrorist act.

Four suspects have been charged with committing an act of terrorism, with three of them pleading guilty. The suspects, including Dalerdzhon Mirzoyev, Saidakrami Rachabalizoda, and Shamsidin Fariduni, were led blindfolded into the courtroom with visible signs of torture on their bodies. Armed with Kalashnikov ‘AK-74’ automatic weapons, the terrorists indiscriminately fired over 500 rounds at civilians, resulting in the deaths of at least 139 people and leaving 182 others wounded.

Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed the nation, attributing the attack to ‘radical Islamists,’ while also suggesting that Ukraine may have played a role. However, military analysts warned that such claims could jeopardize Russian internal security and civilian lives. The Institute for the Study of War stated that the attack bore similarities to how the Islamic State operates, emphasizing that there is no evidence implicating Ukraine in the incident.

The open-source evidence pointed towards a significant intelligence failure on the part of Russian authorities, rather than a conspiracy targeting or initiated by them. The ISW highlighted the need for a thorough investigation to determine the root causes of the attack. The tragedy has raised concerns about the security situation in Russia and the ongoing threats posed by terrorism.

As the investigation unfolds, the victims and their families await justice and closure. The shocking events in Moscow serve as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by extremist ideologies and the need for global cooperation in combating terrorism.
