Tragic Collision in Rialto Claims Life of Driver
In the early hours of Saturday morning, tragedy struck on the 4000 block of South Riverside Avenue in Rialto as a fatal collision unfolded. The incident involved two vehicles, a Toyota Echo and a Ford F-150 pickup truck, resulting in the death of the Toyota driver, Gregory McDonald, a 57-year-old resident of Moreno Valley.

Details of the Crash
According to authorities from the Rialto police Department, the collision occurred around 2:30 a.m. when the pickup truck, driven by 27-year-old Marcus Fiorillo of Banning, crashed into a guardrail before veering into oncoming traffic. The pickup truck then collided head-on with McDonald’s compact sedan, causing life-threatening injuries to the driver.
Emergency responders, including police and fire crews from Colton, arrived at the scene to find McDonald trapped inside his vehicle. Despite their efforts, McDonald succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics from the Colton Fire Department.
Driver Arrested on Suspicion of DUI
Following the crash, Marcus Fiorillo, the driver of the pickup truck, was found to be uninjured. However, suspicion arose regarding his state at the time of the incident. Police investigations revealed evidence suggesting that Fiorillo was under the influence of alcohol when the collision occurred.
Fiorillo was subsequently arrested at the scene and taken into custody. He was later booked into the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga. On Monday, Fiorillo appeared in a San Bernardino County courtroom where he faced charges of second-degree murder and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. He is currently being held without bail.
