Tragic Murder of Elderly Woman in Andhra Pradesh
In a horrifying incident that has shaken the community of Andhra Pradesh, an 84-year-old woman named Obulamma was brutally murdered by her neighbour and his family. The motive behind this heinous crime was a dispute over gold jewellery that the woman had lent to the accused, Krishnamurthy.

Gold Jewellery Dispute Turns Deadly
Obulamma, a resident of Yerraguntla, had kindly lent 7 tolas of gold jewellery to Krishnamurthy around 15 days prior to the incident. However, when she asked for her jewellery back, Krishnamurthy ignored her requests. Frustrated by his lack of response, Obulamma sought the help of village elders to intervene and retrieve her belongings.
Gruesome Murder Unfolds
Unfortunately, instead of peacefully resolving the matter, Krishnamurthy and his family harboured resentment towards Obulamma. This anger boiled over into a fatal confrontation on a fateful Friday when they brutally attacked the elderly woman with an axe, resulting in her untimely death. To cover their tracks, the perpetrators dismembered Obulamma’s body and disposed of the pieces in the Penakacherla dam.

Thankfully, swift action was taken by the authorities after Obulamma’s family filed a case against the accused. The police apprehended Krishnamurthy and his accomplices, leading to the recovery of Obulamma’s remains from the dam. Her body was then sent for a postmortem examination to gather evidence for the ongoing investigation.
