Arrest of Terror Module Linked to JeM in Srinagar
In a significant development, security forces in Srinagar have successfully busted a terror module linked to the outfit JeM. The operation took place on Saturday evening in the Kenihama area, under the jurisdiction of the Nowgam police station. A joint effort involving the Srinagar police, 50 RR, Valley QRT, and 29Bn CRPF led to the apprehension of four terror associates.

Details of the Arrest
The security forces intercepted a white Alto vehicle during a Mobile Vehicle Check Post (MVCP) operation. The four individuals in the vehicle were identified as Md Yaseen Bhat, Sheraz Ahmad Rather, Ghulam Hassan Khandey, and Imtiyaz Ahmad Bhat. Md Yaseen Bhat is the son of Ghulam Qadir Bhat, Sheraz Ahmad Rather is the son of Abdul Rashid Rather, Ghulam Hassan Khandey is the son of Ghulam Mohd Khander, and Imtiyaz Ahmad Bhat is the son of Late Abdul Ganie Bhat. They were all residents of different areas in Srinagar.
Upon searching the vehicle, security forces recovered a significant amount of incriminating materials, arms, and ammunition. The cache included 01 AK 56 rifle with 3 Magazines, 75 rounds of 7.62 x 39 mm, 01 Glock Pistol with 2 Magazines, 26 Rounds of 9 mm, and 06 Chinese grenades.
Connection to JeM
After conducting preliminary investigations, the police confirmed that the apprehended individuals were associated with the proscribed terror outfit JeM. As a result, a case FIR No.31/2024 has been registered under various sections, including UAPA, Arms Act, and IPC, at the Nowgam Police Station.
