Arrests Made in Alleged Burglary Incident in Sheshequin Township

In a recent turn of events, four individuals have been arrested in connection with an alleged burglary that took place in Sheshequin Township. The suspects have been identified as 45-year-old Jeffery A. Barton of Erin, N.Y., 37-year-old Ashley M. Clarkson of Elmira, N.Y., 28-year-old Haley Ann Reese of Towanda, and 25-year-old Adam Patrick Hennessy of Athens.

Details of the Alleged Burglary

According to court documents, the Pennsylvania State police received a report of a burglary in progress at a residence on Sheshequin Rd. in Sheshequin Township. Upon arrival at the scene, a trooper encountered Barton and Clarkson outside the residence.

Barton claimed that he was at the residence to help a friend named Adam secure the property and to purchase a vehicle that was on the premises. He mentioned that he was assisting in securing the residence by drilling screws into the windows and doors.

Clarkson, on the other hand, stated that she was at the residence with Barton to buy a vehicle. She recounted how Hennessy and a female accomplice joined them at the property, with the female entering the residence through a window using a ladder.

Discovery of Firearms and Drugs

During the investigation, the officer noticed drug paraphernalia in Barton’s vehicle, which led to a search where a loaded pistol and suspected methamphetamine were found. Barton and Clarkson were subsequently taken into custody and transported to the Pennsylvania State Police Towanda Barracks.

Both suspects agreed to speak with police after being read their Miranda Rights. Barton reiterated his purpose at the residence, while Clarkson reiterated their intent to help Hennessy secure the property.

Additional Arrests and Statements

On March 9, Hennessy and Reese were apprehended and taken to PSP Towanda for processing. Hennessy explained to police that he checks on the property owned by a friend from time to time and noticed Barton and Clarkson at the residence.

Hennessy admitted to giving Barton the screw gun to enter the property and mentioned that Reese took items from the residence in a blue tote. The suspects left the scene after locking the door back up.

Legal Charges and Court Appearance

In addition to charges of burglary and criminal trespassing, Barton faces charges for carrying a firearm without a valid license, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Clarkson faces further charges for possession of a controlled substance, while Reese faces charges for theft by unlawful taking.

All four suspects are scheduled to appear before Magisterial District Judge Edsell for their preliminary hearing on March 26 at 1:00 p.m. The investigation into the alleged burglary continues as authorities work to unravel the full extent of the incident..
