As the families of Cynthia Moffett and Randi Gorenberg marked the anniversaries of their tragic deaths this weekend, the pain of loss and the search for justice continues. Both women were beloved members of their communities, known for their kindness and willingness to help others.

**Cynthia Moffett: A Leader and a Doer**

Debbie Moffett fondly remembers her sister Cynthia as a strong and outgoing personality who always took charge. Cynthia, who was tragically killed during a robbery at Forest Oaks Golf Course, was known for her generosity and willingness to lend a helping hand to those in need. She volunteered at St. Jude Catholic Church, teaching English to migrant workers, and even cooked meals for customers after Hurricane Wilma knocked out power in the area.

Debbie described Cynthia as someone who would do anything for anyone, always offering help even without being asked. Her murder, which occurred 18 years ago, remains unsolved. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office is offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.

**Randi Gorenberg: A Wife and Mother Remembered**

Randi Gorenberg, a mother of two, was killed after a shopping trip to Town Center at Boca Raton. Her body was found near Delray Beach, and investigators believe robbery was the likely motive for her murder. Randi’s purse and cellphone were taken, and her black Mercedes-Benz SUV was later found abandoned in a Home Depot parking lot.

Like Cynthia, Randi was known for her kindness and compassion. Her mother, Idey Elias, recalls her daughter’s warmth and generosity, and the pain of her loss only grows with each passing year. The community where Randi lived in Palm Beach Gardens plans to gather for a sabbath service in her honor.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office is offering a $15,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in Randi’s case. Despite the passage of 17 years, the search for justice continues.

In addition to Cynthia and Randi, the anniversary of Rachel Hurley’s murder was also marked this weekend. Rachel, just 14 years old, was killed after leaving friends to meet her mother near Carlin Park. Her partially clothed body was found in a wooded area, and the case remains unsolved.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office produced a mini-documentary video about Rachel’s case in 2019, in hopes of generating new leads. Despite investigating two suspects, no one has been charged in connection with Rachel’s murder.
