In a recent incident on March 17, 2024, members of the New York State Police Troop F (Middletown) Community Stabilization Unit (CSU) made a significant discovery on I-87. During a routine traffic stop in the Village of Suffern, Troopers came across a 2024 Kia with two occupants from Connecticut.

The individuals were identified as Tocloveson Pierre, 19, from Norwalk, and Alijah Matias Williams, 18, from Stamford. Upon conducting a probable cause search of the vehicle, the Troopers uncovered a stash of weapons that included:

– Two (2) P-80 Ghost AR Kits
– Two (2) AR Pistol Grips
– Six (6) High-Capacity AR Magazines
– Two (2) P-80 Jigs
– Four (4) Boxes of .223 ammunitions (80 rounds in total)
– One (1) Gravity Knife

Following the discovery, Pierre and Williams were taken into custody and charged with transportation of weapons, a felony, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree, a felony, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree, a misdemeanor. Both individuals were arraigned in Suffern Village Court and released on their own recognizance.

The felony charges carry potential jail time, with a minimum sentence of two years for Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree. Violent Felonies in New York result in mandatory imprisonment, with a maximum sentence of up to seven years.
