**Shots Fired Calls and Fatal Shooting in Columbia**

The Columbia police Department has provided details about a series of shots fired calls and a fatal shooting that occurred on Wednesday. Additionally, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shots fired call outside of CPD’s jurisdiction on the same night.

This incident marks the second fatal shooting in Columbia this week, with the first one taking place outside the Walmart on Conley Road earlier in the week. Following that shooting, one man was arrested and charged with murder.

Furthermore, on Tuesday night, there was another shots fired call at the Popeyes on Business Loop 70 West. The incident resulted in property damage to the restaurant and a vehicle, although no arrests have been made in connection with this case.

A third-party investigation into the suicide of former Lincoln University administrator Antoinette “Bonnie” Candia-Bailey has found no evidence of bullying against her. The investigation was conducted by regional law firm Lewis Rice following Candia-Bailey’s tragic death.

Prior to her passing, Candia-Bailey, who served as the vice president for student affairs, penned a 12-page letter to LU President John Moseley, alumni, and faculty, accusing the president of bullying and harassment.

**Body Found in Median of I-70**

The Columbia Police Department has identified the body found in the median of Interstate 70 as that of Ezekiel Rachow, a 30-year-old resident of Columbia. According to police reports, Rachow passed away after being struck by a sedan.

**Bicyclist Fatality at Highway 63, Route B**

A bicyclist lost their life in a crash at the intersection of U.S. Highway 63 and Route B. The incident involved a 64-year-old Columbia resident named Jimmy Dye, who was hit by a trailer being pulled by a 2019 GMC truck. The truck was travelling north on Highway 63 and turned onto northbound Route B when the tragic accident occurred.

**Salvation Army’s New Learning Center**

The Salvation Army in Columbia has launched a new learning center designed to assist individuals in their pursuit of employment and personal development. The center has been revamped into a resource hub offering various classes on topics such as personal budgeting and office skills to help improve job prospects and life skills.

Located at 1108 W. Ash Street, the center operates from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. from Monday to Friday, with classes held at different times throughout the week..
